2016 APC Rarefied Light Workshop
with Amy Arbus
This workshop will explore the photo essay as a way to reveal the nature of a person (or people) in context, over time. A compelling picture story sets the scene, introduces the characters, evokes a mood, and shows the conflict with all of its consequences. Participants are encouraged to think about simple story ideas before class. Through slide presentations and critiques we will discuss techniques for lifestyle, photojournalism, fashion and traditional portraiture. Guest speakers will provide insight into their process. Key topics will be: approaching people, collaborating with them and encouraging them to feel at ease. Most importantly, we will cover techniques for editing, sequencing and presentation.
Please note: All workshop sales are final. If you are unable to attend, your workshop slot may be transferred to another participant, but no refunds can be provided by APC
